i used to totally be able to decide between jewelry that was gold or silvery. silver all the way, all day, every day. but lately (maybe it's a getting older or being in my late thirties thing) i just so happen to think that dainty goldeny pieces are even prettier against my pale, so translucent it's almost clear skin. who knew i'd say this: gold for the win! photo: irene's story

this week i've made an execution decision that it's going to be all about accessories. more specifically: rings. i haven't worn any in what seems like forever, actually. if i did, i'd only constantly and incessantly fiddle with them and/or it. like a nervous habit or tick. but when i see how pretty and minimalist they can actually really be (especially paired with silvery hoop-de-la earrings) it makes me want to go ahead and rethink my stance on not wearing them. yeah.  photo: instagram

okay. maybe i lied. maybe i want to try a different hair dye. i mean, it's winter isn't it? maybe i should go for a dark brown base instead with bright blonde laced within it. but it has been suuuch a long time since i've even picked up a box of dye. i was just curious to see (aka super duper lazy) what my natural shade would (or will) turn out to be. but she is making a case for not only the prettiest little messy bun but for me to get a whole new shade dyed and done. image: hairstyle guru

best tressed list

when it comes to dyeing one's hair (trust me, i've SO been there) i love nothing more than a super dark root and core. with bright blonde and platinum-y strands shooting right out from underneath it. oh yeah. i just totally dig it. i think it's so chic and punk rock-ery. in fact, looking down at my own dirty blonde (natural) shade right now is making me want to do this exact dye job. and how! so excuse me, won't you please. i think i must do some grocery shopping. photo: nastygall

as trivial as it may seem, i think the length of my hair is one of my worst shortcomings. and yes, pun intended. because i've realized the pixie haircut is my true tress love. but. i've been growing my hair out for so long (another intentional pun) i mean, i can now put it up in a perfect-to-me little twisted center or side bun, that i can't physically cannot bear to cut it back up to there. although chic cuts like this chick's make it really REALLY hard not to miss. photo: behind the chair

up to my neck

so i had my annual physical a few weeks ago, and lo and behold, i did done gone and got myself something: hypothyroidism. yeah. sounds like a made up word to me, but it's a real thing, apparently. it's in the early stages which means for now i just get to do the one-a-day pill thing and blood taking. but this combined with my brca 1 gene with the mri and the mammogram squeezing, looks like 2017 is gonna be one heck of a busy health year for me. pic: it's nice that
